Monster Run Cycle Progression!

So here is this run cycle with this monster I designed, and it's cleanup progression, the overall shot is still a work in progress but it should be completed in the near future.

Yay more animation! I've been kind of on this renewed animation high. And I'm posting the first results of it, so expect more.YIPEE!

Animation! Gator Guard!

Hey look Animation!
So here is a progression shot for a clean up test

His rigid center makes him an interesting animation challenge
The character originated in this rough test I did at the beginning of the summer as an acting exercise:

But I recently redesigned the character to be more appealing and I think it makes him more interesting.

"The Beginning of the Rout of Mankind"

I've been re-reading War of the Worlds, and I was inspired to paint a harrowing scene from the first part of the book.

"Rise and Shine, Mr. Freeman. Rise... and... Shine"

Simple Update

Nine Female Worthies

I love history.
I recently got caught up reading about inspiring female leaders (Boudica in particular) and I came upon these women who are considered the Nine Female Worthies, women who exemplified different ideas of Chivalry. The list is less consistent throughout history than its male counterpart, so i picked my personal favorites and sketched them out. Fun learning experience all around.

Gals!

I've been doing a lot of experimentation with colors and styles, so here are some of them mainly of women. Yay!

and Finally a fan sketch of Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinite.

Family of Thieves

This is a VERY ROUGH piece of animation did recently for the 11 second club but didn't finish in time. The idea was that a thief was gonna do some slight of hand with a police officer's badge.

Rains of Castamere

"And who are you the proud lord said, that I must bow so low?..."
-shivers-

Tywin is probably my favorite fictional antagonist ever, he's such an impressive and imposing character. Couldn't resist drawing him.

Boudica

My rendition of the warrior queen. She's such a fascinating historical figure.

At the Mountains of Madness

I feel I should do more quick paintings with limited palettes like this. It was a fun exercise

The Girl Who Was Plugged IN

From the short story by James Tiptree, Jr.
I thought it was such an intriguing and thought-provoking work, i had to do something with it.

Here be sketches

This is a drawing of a scene from Philip Pullmans The Golden Compass, Mrs. Coulter at her dinner party staring out her London window. I chose not to draw the monkey.

I love drawing bad guys, so here are some minions!!

I enjoyed trying to get the texture of the grassy hill,

i don't even... hmm

Noir

This was my final for my Film Noir class, we had to produce something inspired by any of the films of the genre that we've seen, so I combined elements from "Touch of Evil"(1958), "Point Blank" (1967), and "Double Indemnity" (1944).  Side note: my personal favorite is "The Big Heat" (1953) by Fritz Lang.

ELEPHANTS!

Jack The Lion

Roaring his last
Yes, I am aware that this is a literal interpretation of the song.

Vicky's Christmas

I didn't get a chance to post this in december (i was drowning in my thesis at the time) but here it is anyway.
